Origin of bison and its distribution
During the ice periode ( 16000 B.C ), bisons migrated from Asia to north- central America.
The path was trough the icefree corridor along the Rocky Mountains and spread trough the entier continent. Forest bison remained in the woods of Canada. But the major population of the prairie bison spread trough the poor rain step between Rocky Mountains and Mississippi.
